Each clinical trial has specific criteria to determine who can participate. These are called clinical trial eligibility criteria; they help ensure that patients who are participating in a trial are alike.
For example, they may need to have the same type and stage of disease. This helps ensure the trial’s outcomes are the result of the investigational new drug being evaluated. Clinical trial eligibility criteria are also important for the safety of the patient.
myTomorrows does not determine the eligibility of patients but helps with pre-screening them before referring them to a clinical trial. This is only done on broad criteria that are either publicly available or agreed upon with the site (age, location or gender, for instance).
