1) General information

This Cookie Statement informs you about how Impatients N.V. and its affiliated companies (all acting under the trade name myTomorrows and referred to in this Cookie Statement as “myTomorrows”, “we”, “our” or “us”) use cookies and other similar technologies (together referred to as: “cookies”) on our website, www.mytomorrows.com (hereinafter: “Website”). In addition, some background information on cookies and how you can manage your cookies settings is provided.

2) What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files (bits of data) that can be placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device with which you access the internet using a web browser. When a website is visited, it can place these cookies on your device via your web browser. Once a cookie is placed on your device, it enables the recognition of your device as you navigate through the website via the same web browser. This will for instance enable the website to ‘remember’ your language settings.  

Types of cookies: 

• First–party cookies: Cookies myTomorrows places on your device for its own purposes.  
• Third–party cookies: cookies which are placed by third parties engaged by us. These so-called third party cookies are placed by or on behalf of an external/third party. By using myTomorrows’ services, third party cookies may be placed on your device. However, these third party cookies are used for myTomorrows’ own purposes and remain within our control.  

After a cookie is placed on your device, your device can be recognized as you browse through a website using the same web browser during a subsequent visit by reading these text files. This will for instance enable the website to remember your preferred (for example, language) settings.

3) Similar technologies

In addition to cookies, other technologies may be used for similar purposes as cookies. When we mention “cookies” in this Cookie Statement, this also includes all other relevant technologies. Please find a short description of some relevant similar technologies below:

• Pixels: are small graphic elements embedded on a web page or in emails. They are used for different purposes, including tracking user interactions, measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns or collecting analytics data. They enable the website to gather information about user behavior and engagement.  
• Tags: a tag is a piece of code that is used to gain insights into the performance of advertisements placed on third parties’ websites. MyTomorrows has implemented a Tag Manager server-side solution in order to prevent third parties from making direct contact with your browser when obtaining performance information. This solution works as follows: information about your session is first sent to a myTomorrows server that acts as an intermediary between you and our partners. On this server, we limit, clean up and validate the data before it is sent to our partners. We limit the personal data that is sent to our partners to what is strictly necessary to meet the purposes for which that data is collected.  
• Scripts: a script is a piece of program code that is used to make our Website function properly and interactively. This code is executed on our server or on your device. JavaScript is a scripting language used to create interactive web pages. It runs in the web browser and can be used to manipulate web page content, validate form data and create dynamic effects and animations.

4) What does the lifecycle of a cookie look like? 

• Default period. Cookies are only valid for a period of time after they have been placed on your device. A distinction can be made between two types of cookies in this context: 
• • Session cookies. These cookies are deleted from your device once you close your browser and as such ‘end’ your session. These cookies are generally used when the data collected is only relevant with regard to the provision of the service requested by users in a single situation.
• • Persistent cookies. These cookies will remain on your device, until a predetermined expiration date has passed.  
• Early deletion/refusal. You can choose to delete a cookie manually before its validity period has passed. You can also decide to refuse cookies which may only be placed with your consent through the cookie banner that opens when you visit our website. You can edit your preferences at any moment by accessing the “Cookie Settings” button on our website. The lifecycle of each cookie is indicated in section 9 below.

• Definition: These cookies are essential for myTomorrows’ website to work properly, and are used by myTomorrows for technical purposes. It concerns cookies that are (i) placed with the sole purpose of facilitating communication over an electronic communication network or (ii) that are strictly necessary for providing you with the information-society service as requested by you.
• No consent required: pursuant to the applicable regulations, functional cookies may be placed without your consent. These cookies are of no or little consequence to your privacy.
• Example: a cookie remembering your language settings.

Functional cookies 

• Definition: These cookies are optional to optimize and personalize your experience while using myTomorrows’ website.
• Consent is not always required: pursuant to the applicable regulations, functional cookies may be placed without your consent in some cases. However, myTomorrows always asks for your consent before placing these cookies.
• Example: a cookie remembering your chat history.

Analytics cookies

• Definition: These cookies are used by myTomorrows to collect statistical information and gain insight into the way visitors use our Website. For example, it concerns cookies that tell us how often our Website is visited, what information visitors are looking for and which pages are the most visited. We can use this information to improve our Website.
• Consent is not always required: pursuant to the applicable regulations, analytical cookies may be placed without your consent in some cases. However, myTomorrows always asks for your consent before placing these cookies.
• Example: a cookie analysing which pages were visited on the Website.

Advertising cookies

• Definition: These cookies are used to deliver advertising and tailored content to users based on the user’s behavior, interests, or demographics. They also help measure the effectiveness of advertising and marketing campaigns and can be used to track the activity of individual users.
• Consent is required: Your consent is always required before placing these cookies on your device.
• Example: a cookie that determines how many users have arrived on our website by clicking an ad they saw on Facebook.

6) Google Analytics

One of the third parties that places cookies on our behalf is Google Analytics. We have taken all the steps as recommended by the Dutch Data Protection Authority to make the settings of this tool as privacy friendly as possible, and we continuously monitor the regulatory compliance of this tool. The implementation of the tag manager server-side set-up mentioned in section 3 above ensures that Google Analytics cookies are used in the most privacy-friendly way possible.
